Ujire, March 31: Anisha Arol D’Souza, a Class 9 student of SDM English Medium School (State Syllabus), Ujire, brought pride to the nation by winning the Gold Medal in Shot Put at the Indo-Nepal International Youth Games held at Rangasala Stadium, Pokhara, Nepal.

Representing India, Anisha secured first place with an outstanding performance, marking a significant achievement at the international level. She had earlier qualified for the event by winning gold at the National Open Youth Games held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi, representing Karnataka.

Anisha has consistently excelled in athletics, winning gold at the State School Olympics and other state-level championships, and setting a district record in shot put.

She is trained by Physical Education coaches Sandesh B. Poonja and Subhash Chandra. The SDM management, staff, students, and parents have congratulated her on this remarkable achievement.
