The Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural pride at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara English Medium School (State), Ujire. The school campus was filled with vibrant colours as students showcased the rich heritage and beauty of the Kannada language and culture.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. B. Somasekhar Shetty, a senior and respected teacher, who highlighted the importance of Kannada Rajyotsava in fostering love and respect towards our mother tongue. He emphasized that Kannada is not just a language, but an identity that reflects our history, literature, and cultural brilliance. He encouraged students to uphold the values of Kannada, protect its prestige, and contribute to its growth.
In her presidential address, Headmistress Mrs. Vidyalaxmi Nayak expressed her appreciation for the efforts put in by the teachers and students. She encouraged the children to be proud of their linguistic heritage and to carry forward the legacy of Kannada with honour and dedication.
The students presented a variety of cultural performances such as group songs, skits, folk dances, and patriotic Kannada numbers, all of which highlighted the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava. The programme also featured speeches and poems related to Kannada Nadu and its glorious history.
A special highlight of the event was the school’s participation in the Namma 90.4 Radio Channel, where students spoke about the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava. This broadcast added further value to the celebration, taking the message of Kannada pride to a wider audience.
Teachers, parents, and students actively took part in the programme, making it a meaningful and memorable celebration of Karnataka’s cultural spirit.
